Description
BIGUMA®- BAB 20 EL is a rail sealing compound for the filling of joints between rails and adjoining surfaces as paving, concrete or asphalt. Due to its more elastic material properties, the joint compound is particularly suitable for rail joints where increased mechanical effects are to be expected due to the design or boundary conditions.

Application instructions
a) Melting
Heat to 160–180 °C with mechanical agitation, indirect heating and thermometer. Thermostatic control; avoid overheating.
b) Subsoil
Clean joints with high-pressure air or brushing—separate cleaning from pouring. Hot-air lances for drying/pre-heating. Remove loose rust by sand blasting or equivalent. COLZUMIX®-Haftgrund primer: binds dust, fuses with sealant, rust protection—full film, touch-dry before fill.
c) Filling
Pour by can or lance at temperature. Low temperature risks voids and sagging. Keep cell filling stable. Shrinkage may need immediate second pour. Install at least 3 mm below rail head top edge.
Weather conditions
Dry weather; surface temperature at least 3 °C.

Sealant: length × width × depth × density = grams.
Primer approx. 3 % of sealant mass.
