BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band

BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band

Polymer-modified, fusible bituminous joint tape in triangular form

Description

BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band is an elastomer-coated, fibre-reinforced and filled bitumen joint tape in the shape of an isosceles triangle. It is used when a groove is to be made for subsequent work. Thanks to its special material properties, BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band perfectly adapts to uneven substrates and curved surfaces and allows full-surface bonding with the substrate.

Advantages

  • perfectly adapts to uneven substrates
  • quick and easy to use
  • full-surface bonding with the substrate, prevents water from seeping underneath
  • flexible when cold
  • weather and age resistant
  • subsequent work steps can be performed immediately after the triangular tape has been applied
  • can be covered without problem with welded bitumen sheets, bitumen coatings, etc.

Available packaging

Cartons: 25×25 mm — 30 rolls per carton; 30×30 mm — 24 rolls per carton. Other dimensions on request.

Technical info

Application instructions

a) Preparatory work

The surface must be dry, clean and free from dust; remove all loose debris. Tape is supplied rolled on silicone paper with silicone interleaving to prevent sticking. Available dimensions: 25×25 mm, 25×30 mm, 30×30 mm, 40×40 mm; cartons of approx. 15–18 kg or 14–30 m depending on dimension.

b) Primer

Prime the surface before tape application. COLZUMIX®-VFB or COLZUMIX®-Haftgrund form a system with the tape. Use COLZUMIX®-Haftgrund where the subsoil must not be blackened. Apply primer by brush or spray.

c) Application

Remove BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band from the carton, roll it out along the joint edge and lightly melt with a propane gas torch or tack with bitumen. Press the soft, tacky tape firmly onto the primed substrate so both sides of the tape adhere fully at edges and concave mouldings without voids. The primer and tape together ensure a long-lasting bond.

Cleaning agents

Equipment: BIGUMA®-SWS, petrol or commercial solvents
Skin contact: hand washing paste

Storage

Store cool and dry; maximum stack height approx. 4 boxes; virtually indefinite shelf life under these conditions.
