Description

BIGUMA®-Fertigschlämme E is primarily used to seal rough and porous asphalt surfaces in order to significantly extend useful life. The product also protects worn surface layers from further damage. BIGUMA®-Fertigschlämme E can be used to close pores on asphalt surfaces which were made too porous. Since BIGUMA®-Fertigschlämme E is applied without the use of machinery, it is particularly easy to use.

Application instructions

Application

Stir before use. Apply with a rubber squeegee, smoothly and sharply torn off across the chipping tops. In hot weather lightly wet the surface with water first. For extra roughness mix in approx. 10 % clay-free sand 0/2. Open to traffic only after full dry-out (~2–4 h per layer; temperature dependent). Apply second layer only after the first is fully dry.

Requirements to the subsoil

Clean thoroughly; surface even and well compacted. On fresh asphalt wearing courses wait approx. 4 weeks weathering before first application.

Weather conditions

Dry weather only; ambient and surface temperature at least +10 °C.

Material consumption

Single layer: approx. 0.8–1.5 kg/m². Double layer: first 1.0–1.5 kg/m², second 0.6–1.2 kg/m². Primer for older asphalt: BIGUMA®-Fertigschlämme E thinned 1:1 with water approx. 0.4–0.6 kg/m².

Fresh: water. Set: BIGUMA®-SWS, petrol or solvents
At skin contact: hand washing paste

Storage

At least 6 months unopened; frost-free; avoid sun/heat.
