Description
BIGUMA®-Hakenband is a fusible joint tape with an innovative cross-sectional design. The special shape of the top profile edge allows precise positional fixing, simplifying the installation process. BIGUMA®-Hakenband is used to seal joints in asphalt roads as they are created during new construction, maintenance projects and excavation work.

Application instructions
Substrate preparation
The joint surfaces must be dry, clean and free from dust and loose debris. Apply primer COLZUMIX®-Haftgrund to both joint faces by brush or spray; avoid overdosing. Allow to dry before placing the tape.
Application
Position BIGUMA®-Hakenband in the joint so that the hook profile edge aligns with the finished road level — this edge sets the height for the asphalt layers to be rolled. Lightly melt the tape with a propane gas torch and press firmly onto the primed substrate. The innovative cross-sectional shape distributes material optimally toward the cold side of the joint, forming a well-sealed rivet head without additional positional stabilisers.
