Description

BIGUMA®-Reaktiv is primarily suitable for the repair of smaller cracks in asphalt road surfaces and the filling of joints in the production of induction loops. The bituminous crack and joint sealant consists of two components which mix automatically in the innovative cartridge and is easy to use. The special combination of active substances ensures excellent adhesion, eliminating the need for a primer.

Application instructions

a) Requirements to the substrate

Clean joints and cracks with compressed air, a brushing machine or joint brush. Widen cracks narrower than 2 mm so enough mass can enter to absorb seasonal movement.

b) Filling

Fill the crack or joint directly from the cartridge. Deep cracks may require re-filling. After 30–40 minutes — or shortly before traffic release — cover with chippings (preferably 1–3 mm, colour-matched) to prevent the chippings sinking into the still-soft mass.

c) Application temperature

Ground or air temperature must be between 5 °C and 30 °C. Material temperature must be between 15 °C and 30 °C during application.

d) Working time

Processing time is approximately 15 minutes; after this BIGUMA®-Reaktiv hardens progressively. Process the cartridge in one pass without interruption — material hardens if work is stopped. High temperatures accelerate the reaction; low temperatures slow it. Traffic release is approximately 45–60 minutes after application.
