Description

PROXAN®- FB 3 is an industrially prefabricated polysulphide-based sealing tape. Thanks to its special formulation, it is resistant to a large number of chemicals, UV resistant and elastic over a temperature range of −40 °C to +100 °C. With the PROXAN®- FB 3 sealing tape, it is possible to seal very wide joints in non-trafficked areas. It is suitable for securely sealing joints which are subject to great movement and for repairing widened joints in facilities for the storage, filling and handling of water endangering liquids.

Application

PROXAN®- FB 3 is adhered with PROXAN®- KV 3 ST on both sides of the joint. The bonding areas must be primed with a PROXAN® primer suited to the corresponding substrate. The moulded edge areas of the tape serve as adhesive surface; the unmoulded centre acts as the expansion zone. The tape can be adhered plain, in loop type, or angled (edge joint). Connections of tapes should be made outside cross joints and can be designed as collision or overlapping joints. At cross joints it is recommended to adhere the tape continuously both vertically and horizontally on the colliding side. The expansion zone must be covered with a separating material (PE foil, silicone paper) to prevent three-side bonding. The vertical tape must be adhered above the horizontal tape. All joint tape collisions must be sealed with PROXAN®- KV 3 ST. Empty joints in horizontal areas must be filled up to the upper edge with a material that prevents the tape from sagging (e.g. PE round profile, closed-cell).

Storage

Dry. Rolls must be stored upright; do not squeeze; do not remove the paper interlayer. Shelf life is unlimited.
