Description

PROXAN®- HRM 3 is a two-component epoxy resin-based primer with active anti-corrosive pigment (cement clinker) and acts as a bonding layer between the concrete and the repair mortar PROXAN®- RM 3. Thanks to its high chemical resistance, it is suitable for use in facilities for the storage, filling and handling of water endangering liquids. PROXAN®- HRM 3 adheres excellently to brittle or roughened surfaces and is resistant to the alkalinity of fresh cement mortars and quick setting cement. It can therefore also be used as a bonding layer between old and fresh cement concrete.

Substrate preparation

The mineral substrate must be dry, stable, fine-grained and free of slurry, dust, loose elements, grease and oil. This is achieved by milling, ball peening, grinding or the use of a wire brush. Loose elements are then removed by blasting with air. Following pre-treatment, the adhesive strength of the concrete substrate should be at least 1.5 N/mm². The metallic substrate must be free of rust and mill scale, as well as being free of dust, grease and oil, achieved by grit blasting (purity grade SA 2½ per EN ISO 12944-4) or grinding.

Application

Component B is completely emptied into component A (ratio A:B = 9:1), both are then thoroughly and intensively mixed using an electric agitator (approx. 300–400 rpm). The premixed material should be transferred to a clean container and mixed again. Apply only when component temperatures are at least 3 K above the dew point temperature, by rolling or brushing. Apply approx. 500–800 g/m² per work step. PROXAN®- RM 3 repair mortar must be applied to the fresh, unreacted bonding agent.

Cleaning agents

Clean equipment immediately with PROXAN®- PR-S or PROXAN®- PR 4 when work is interrupted.

Storage

Storage life one year. Keep packaging well closed, dry, and store at +15 °C to +20 °C if possible. Avoid direct sunlight.
