Description

PROXAN®- KV 2 G-S is a fast-reacting two-component joint sealant for joints whose widths have the potential to expand by up to 35%. It is particularly suitable for concrete road surfaces, e.g. motorways and aircraft operation areas where there are high movement absorption requirements. This joint sealant is characterised by its high chemical resistance and reliably prevents the ingress of water pollutants into the ground. PROXAN®- KV 2 G-S is pourable and therefore very easy to use.

Technical standards: TL Fug-StB (class 35), DIN EN 14188-2 (load classes A–D), Z-74.6-192 (ABG) – storage, filling and handling facilities for water-endangering substances

Application instructions

Application

Joints must be clean, dry and free of loose particles, mortar residuals, dust, grease and dirt. Absorbent substrate (concrete): prime with PROXAN®- CP-SR (applied on dry substrate, max. 4% residual moisture). Backfill joint with a non-absorbing material per TL Fug-StB (PE round profile, closed cell) to achieve correct sealing depth and avoid three-flank bonding. Apply sealant at least 3 mm to maximum 6 mm below the pavement surface. For conventional use, add component B to component A and mix with a paddle mixer at low speed (max. 300 rpm) until completely homogenous without stripes and without air inclusion. Apply into joints with hand or air gun; remove air bubbles by gently brushing with a soft brush during application time.

Weather conditions

Temperature (building part) must be between +5 °C and +40 °C. Joint sealant temperature must be at least +10 °C at application. Building part surface must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature.

Cleaning agents

Equipment: clean with petrol or commercial solvents (e.g. PROXAN®- PR-S, PROXAN®- PR 4).

Storage

Dry, at temperatures of +5 °C to +25 °C in unopened original packaging for up to 6 months. Not frost susceptible but must be brought to minimum +10 °C before application.
