PROXAN®-RM 3

PROXAN®-RM 3

Two-component epoxy resin reaction resin mortar

Description

PROXAN®- RM 3 is a pigmented two-component epoxy resin reaction resin mortar filled with special quartz sand. The repair mortar is used in conjunction with the primer PROXAN®- HRM 3 for concrete restoration. Thanks to its high chemical resistance, it is suitable for use in facilities for the storage, filling and handling of water endangering liquids.

Advantages

  • High chemical resistance
  • Approved for concrete restoration in facilities for the storage, filling and handling of water endangering liquids (Z-74.12-96, DIBt)

Available packaging

Bucket: 8 kg Bucket: 20 kg

Application instructions

Substrate preparation

The mineral substrate must be dry, stable, fine-grained and free of slurry, dust, loose elements, grease and oil. This is achieved by milling, ball peening, grinding or the use of a wire brush; loose elements removed by blasting with air. After pre-treatment, adhesive strength of the concrete substrate should be at least 1.5 N/mm². Damaged areas must be removed at approx. 45° to connect to the old concrete surface (cutting out with saw blades or high-pressure water jets is not permitted).

Application

Components A and B are packaged in a precisely metered mixing ratio (A:B = 1000:36). Empty both components into a compulsory mixer and mix intensively for 2–3 minutes. If mixed in original packaging, use an electric agitator (approx. 300–400 rpm). Transfer to a clean container and mix again. Apply only when substrate temperature is at least 3 K above the dew point temperature (8 °C to 30 °C). Prime the pre-treated concrete surface with PROXAN®- HRM 3 bonding agent and apply the repair mortar to the fresh, uncured bonding agent. While still fresh, powder the surface with 0.1–0.3 mm sand.

Weather conditions

Substrate temperature must be at least 3 K above the prevailing dew point temperature. Processing temperature: 8 °C to 30 °C.

Cleaning agents

Clean equipment immediately with PROXAN®- PR-S or PROXAN®- PR 4 when work is interrupted.

Storage

Shelf life one year. Keep packaging securely closed, dry, and store between +15 °C and +20 °C if possible. Keep away from direct sunlight.

Authoritative regulations

  • Z-74.12-96 (DIBt) – concrete restoration in facilities for storage, filling and handling of water-endangering liquids
