Description

The DOBAU®-Vapour Barrier 1.2 mm is a mechanically reinforced polymer bitumen and cold self-adhesive membrane for use on flat and pitched roofs. It has an external, special aluminum composite foil.

Application instructions

Application

The substrate must be dry, abrasion-resistant, and free of grease and dust. If the substrate meets these requirements, DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn 1,2 mm can be applied immediately using a roller — this prevents the formation of air pockets. The overlap area must be 8 cm. For problematic, rough or absorbent substrates, the entire surface should be primed with DOBAU®-Primer for cold self-adhesive bitumen sealing membranes; allow to flash off before applying the membrane. The insulation can be applied mechanically or by bonding with a polyurethane adhesive. DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn 1,2 mm can be used as a flexible sheet for emergency waterproofing for approx. 6 weeks; roof drainage must be sufficient. Emergency and temporary sealing is no substitute for sealing that complies with the regulations.

Storage

Min. 12 months shelf life if unopened in the original carton. Protect from direct sunlight, keep cool and dry. To ensure optimum adhesion even in the cold season, store rolls in a frost-protected room and remove only shortly before use.
