Application instructions

Application

DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn BLR is laid straight rolling by removing the protective film. For safe overlapping, 8 cm must be maintained in the longitudinal and transverse seams. The glued areas can be additionally sealed. DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn BLR must be adhered to the substrate over the entire surface. In the cold season no welding is necessary as DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn BLR is highly adhesive. If the substrate is dry and free from impurities, no primer is required. However, priming with DOBAU®-Primer is always recommended if the substrate does not have optimum conditions. No primer is required for clean and dry plastic-coated, painted or unpainted trapezoidal steel profiles. Longitudinal seam overlaps must be glued over the entire surface by pressing down with body weight or a pressure roller. Especially at cross seams, ensure the underlying web is tightly stretched to avoid sagging — pressing overlaps with a rubber slider is not sufficient. The insulation can be applied mechanically or by bonding with a polyurethane liquid adhesive. DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn BLR can be used as a flexible sheet for emergency waterproofing for approx. 6 weeks; roof drainage must be sufficient. The tread resistance is maintained. The vapor barrier membrane does not replace a regular waterproofing.

Material consumption

1.08 m per m² with 8 cm overlap

Storage

Min. 12 months shelf life if unopened in the original carton. Protect from direct sunlight, keep cool and dry. To ensure optimum adhesion even in the cold season, store rolls in a frost-protected room and remove only shortly before use.
