Description

The DOBAU®-Vapour Barrier FIBER 0.6 mm is a mechanically reinforced membrane with a glass fabric for use in flat roof areas. The composition made of polymer-modified bitumen, non-slip and puncture-resistant aluminum composite film as well as a siliconized PP protective film interliner (overlapping on both sides) is characterized by simple and safe application.

Application instructions

Application

The substrate must be dry, abrasion-resistant, and free of grease and dust. If the substrate meets these requirements, DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn FIBER 0.6 mm can be laid over the entire surface straight and rolling. The overlap area must be 8 cm. Longitudinal seam overlaps must be glued over the entire surface by pressing down with body weight or a pressure roller. Especially at cross seams, ensure the underlying web is tightly stretched to avoid sagging — pressing overlaps with a rubber slider is not sufficient. The insulation can be applied mechanically or by bonding with a polyurethane liquid adhesive. For problematic, rough or absorbent substrates, prime the entire surface with a primer; allow to flash off before applying the membrane. No primer is required for clean and dry plastic-coated, painted or unpainted trapezoidal steel profiles. DOBAU®-Dampfsperrbahn FIBER 0.6 mm is for use in flat and pitched roof areas (roof area < 2000 m²).

Storage

Min. 12 months shelf life if unopened in the original carton. Protect from direct sunlight, keep cool and dry. To ensure optimum adhesion even in the cold season, store rolls in a frost-protected room and remove only shortly before use.
