DOBAU®-Petrolatum uni

The area to be coated must be made free of rust and cleaned thoroughly using a wire brush. The surface must be dry and free of grease. The tape must be applied in 3 layers to attain a high corrosion protection effect. We therefore recommend applying the first winding with a minimum of 50 % overlap. The top layer should be applied in a spiral shape with 10 mm overlap. It begins and ends 50 mm on the adjoining factory coating. Ensure crease-free winding without cavity formation. Finally, the tape must be pressed down again and smoothed, especially in the overlap area. In case of increased mechanical load, we recommend attaching the ISO pipe protection mat additionally.

DOBAU®-Petrolatum uni is a corrosion protection tape, consisting of a chemical fibre reinforcement (80 g/m²), coated on both sides with a modified petrolatum compound of high adhesive force and elasticity.

For subsequent coating of weld seams areas and shaped parts as well as fittings, house connections, flanges and in lightning protection construction. Ideally suitable for difficult areas in conjunction with DOBAU®-mastic. Operating temperature up to 30 °C.
