Description

DOBAU®- Reparaturband AL is a self-adhesive and cold applied sealing tape based on elastomeric bitumen. The UV stable aluminum composite foil on top of bitumen mass give the product a high mechanical stability. DOBAU®- Reparaturband AL reliably bonds and seals metal, plastics, concrete, masonry, plaster, wood and glass.

It is particularly suitable for sealing:
– joints and cracks
– rain gutters
– connections to roof and wall
– coverings
– glass roofs and greenhouses
– steel structures
– roof coverings, eaves and flashing

Application instructions

Application

The surfaces to be sealed must be dry, free from frost, grease, silicone and abrasion. Porous or dusty substrate should be pre-treated with primer (approx. 200 ml/m²) to achieve optimum adhesion. The most effective application temperature is between 5 °C and 45 °C, air or surface temperature. For better adhesion in the low temperature range, we recommend storing DOBAU®-Reparaturband AL at room temperature. The DOBAU®-Reparaturband AL must be pressed on firmly after application. The formation of hollow areas (bubbles) must be avoided. If several strips are to be applied, the overlap must be at least 50 mm. Substrates that can be walked on or driven on are not suitable for application.

Storage

The product should be protected from direct sunlight and stored at 10 °C to 30 °C. The rolls should also be stored dry and standing on their cut edges. The product is not vulnerable to frost. The properties of DOBAU®-Reparaturband AL remain unchanged for a long time. We recommend application within 12 months.
