Description

DOBAU®-Unterlagsbahn KSU is a cold self-adhesive elastomer bitumen sheet with a glass grid fabric carrier. It serves as the lower layer in multi-layer sealed flat roof constructions. It can be applied to temperature-sensitive materials such as polystyrene, polyurethane, etc. In the layer structure of a flat roof, it can be combined with all common polymer bitumen welding sheets and used as the first layer.

Application instructions

Application

The substrate must be dry, level, free of grease and dust. Dusty substrates must be treated with a primer (e.g. DOBAU®-Primer for cold self-adhesive bitumen waterproofing sheets). To achieve optimal alignment and positioning of the sheets, roll out the first sheet, align it, roll it back up halfway, then pull off the film while re-rolling. The sheet immediately adheres to the substrate on contact. Repeat the same process with the other half. Apply the next sheet with an 8 cm overlap. The transverse seam should overlap approx. 10 cm. Press down with a pressure roller. With longer intervals between work stages, seams and head closures must be carefully sealed using the flame of a propane burner. The roofing sheet is welded to the underlay sheet with a carefully adjusted flame. The underlay sheet must always be laid together with the top layer. It is not suitable as emergency waterproofing.

Weather conditions

DOBAU®-Unterlagsbahn KSU can be applied from approx. 8 °C. When processing in cold weather, the DOBAU®-Unterlagsbahn KSU must be stored for at least 12 hours in an environment with > 10 °C.

Storage

Do not stack pallets on top of each other. Store indoors and avoid direct sunlight.
