Description

DOBAU®-Abdichtungsband KSK (DOBAU®-Sealing Tapes) are easily cut strips of DOBAU®-Abdichtungsbahn KSK, which are easier to handle for sealing wall openings, corners, edges or other filigree construction sections. DOBAU®-Abdichtungsband KSK can be used as bitumen damp-proof course in accordance with DIN EN 14967. Use both indoors and outdoors is possible.

Application instructions

Requirements to the subsoil

The dry substrate must be smooth and firm with sufficient load bearing capacity and free of dust or impurities. It must be free of nests, cavities, cracks and burrs, dust, tar, pitch, formwork oil, old coatings or other layers that may impair adhesion. Fillets must be formed at the transition from horizontal to vertical areas, e.g. with BIGUMA®-Dreieck Band. DOBAU®-Abdichtungsband KSK can be processed without primer at temperatures of 5 °C and above. At cold temperatures around freezing point, the substrate must be primed with COLZUMIX®-Haftgrund. DOBAU®-Abdichtungsband KSK should be stored at room temperature before processing. At 20 °C and 50 % air humidity, primer drying time is approx. 2 hours (consumption approx. 200 g/m²). The primer must be fully dried before bonding; the strip must be bonded within 6 hours of priming, otherwise re-priming is required.

Processing

Cut the required strips to the corresponding length. After pulling off the separating film, bond the strips onto the relevant areas and press down forcefully with a rubber roller. Always use a sharp knife for cutting, moistening it with water frequently.

Please note

Secure bonding will not be possible if condensation has formed on the primed surface. A dry substrate must be ensured before bonding. Point and line loads as well as loads that impair the functionality of the seal by indentation must be avoided.

Storage

Min. 12 months shelf life if unopened in the original carton. Protect from direct sunlight, keep cool and dry.
